How do we know we need custom software rather than an off-the-shelf product?
A simple test: if a ready-made product covers about eighty per cent of the job and you can live with the rest, buy it — it is cheaper, and we will tell you so. Custom development is justified when the missing twenty per cent is precisely what your business is, or when licence and per-user fees over two or three years exceed the cost of your own system.
Do we get the source code?
Yes, all of it. The code lives in your repository from day one rather than being handed over at the end, and the infrastructure is deployed to your servers or your cloud account. Product rights are assigned to you in the contract — you can continue with your own team or another contractor whenever you choose.
Can we start small and grow the system gradually?
That is almost always what we recommend. The first version covers the main scenario and launches in 2 to 4 months, and the system then grows on feedback from real users. It is cheaper and safer than spending six months building every feature in a specification, part of which will never be needed.
Who does the interface design?
Design is part of the project: we design the interface around real working scenarios rather than drawing pretty screens apart from the logic. If you have your own designer or an existing brand book, we work with them and follow your guidelines.
